Our one day workshop will help build confidence and competence, using second language pedagogy, to support your learning - all in a safe, supportive space.
Who is this programme for?
Anyone who is wanting to learn/ improve their pronunciation of Māori words, and learn some useful reo along the way!
What will you / your team get out of it?
In this workshop you will:
- Learn the building blocks of te reo Māori
- Move onto vowel blends
- Learn tips to assist correct pronunciation
- Learn the rationale behind pepeha
- Write your own culturally appropriate pepeha
- Learn a karakia to use at mahi and with your family and friends
- Play games to practise what you are learning
- Have lots of opportunities to practise in a safe space
- All packaged up in engaging activities and Donna’s effervescent style!
- 5 hour workshop: 9 - 2 pm
Donna’s authenticity and extensive knowledge of Māori culture and language ignites and inspires te ao Māori for all that she comes in contact with. Her te reo lessons are thoughtfully planned and skillfully delivered for both kaiako and ākonga to learn, practice and transfer to their everyday conversations.
